The Czech Republic is an interesting market for medical device companies.

Hospital procedures in the Czech Republic are financed using a combination of payment models, including case-by-case reimbursement via CZ-DRG and DRG-adjusted global budget. Insurance companies and healthcare providers annually negotiate reimbursement conditions and tariffs (“Reimbursement Directive”).

One of the key challenges on the market is the inclusion of novel procedures into the List of Medical Services (SZV) by the Ministry of Health. Up to 2021, the IR-DRG system was used in the Czech Republic. Since 2021, the new CZ-DRG system is in use.

We offer a seminar on critical elements of the hospital reimbursement system for medical devices in the Czech Republic that can guide your decision-making about the introduction of novel technologies into this market.
