Poland is one of the fastest-growing economies and markets in Europe, and it is of very high interest to the Med Tech industry.
The Polish reimbursement system is very complicated, including two types of DRGs, several add-on reimbursement categories, and highly specialized care. The inclusion of the new procedures into the system follows the complex evaluation procedure, and the final decision is made by the Ministry of Health.
We built this seminar to help develop a better understanding of the market access landscape in Poland and to inform better business decisions on whether to go to this market or not and, if yes, how to approach it.
Key stakeholders are reviewed, including payers, policy-makers, advising organizations, and managers of the DRG system
Money flow and distribution of funds, overview of the payment models, structure and specifics of the DRG system
Composition of the DRG manual, examples of calculation of reimbursement tariffs for routine and highly specialized services
Overview of the pathway to include a novel procedure into the reimbursement system, the role of HTA
A separate comprehensive overview of the reimbursement system for medical aids in Poland
Some topics are not specifically covered in this seminar: reimbursement model in out-patient settings, reimbursement for in-vitro diagnostic tests, funding of capital equipment.
The introductory presentation also does not include details of reimbursement application processes.
