This online on-demand seminar gives a comprehensive understanding of the hospital reimbursement landscape for medical devices in Switzerland. Additional modules cover reimbursement of IVD tests and screening methods

Switzerland is a very attractive market for innovative medical device companies.
Easiness of creation of procedure code at the hospital level (CHOP code), high tariffs for hospital care and lack of mandatory evidence review for novel procedures makes Switzerland a very interesting market for medical device companies with hospital products.
The key challenges at the market are the development of procedure code, adjustment of DRG system (including the creation of add-on reimbursement). Also, new methods can be questioned by insurance companies and routed for national health technology assessment by the Federal Office of Public Health. In such cases, based on the manufacturer’s submission, the Office decides about coverage of the procedure in the statutory health insurance.
We offer a seminar on critical elements of the hospital reimbursement system for medical devices in Switzerland that can guide your decision-making about the introduction of novel technologies into this market.
Key stakeholders are reviewed, including payers, policy-makers, advising organizations (including partners of SwissDRG) and support bodies (developer of procedural classification/DRG system)
Money flow and distribution of funds, an overview of the hospital payment system (DRG system), the process of development of the DRG system
Funding framework, including coverage of services within statutory health insurance (KLV List). HTA landscape and role of HTA in market access
