Turkey is an interesting and complex market for medical technologies.

Country with a large population and advanced health care service provides on one end, and complex, rigid reimbursement system, complicated by the macro-economic conditions.

There is only one aspect of market access in Turkey, which is creation of the Healthcare Implementation Communique (SUT) code for a novel procedure and medical device, as well as change of the price over time.

A new service must be introduced in one of the annexes of the SUT in order to be reimbursed. There are no transparent processes of introduction of new services into Annexes of SUT. Also, the system generally lacks the revision of the national reimbursement prices for procedures and devices.

DRG system exists in Turkey, but it is not used for case-by-case reimbursement, and mostly used for benchmarking purposes.

We offer a seminar on critical elements of the hospital and out-patient reimbursement system for medical devices and IVD tests in Turkey that can guide your decision-making about the introduction of novel technologies into this market.
